Several sepia-toned copies of the same photo of the Mott House with a grassy yard, a clothesline and bushes visible in the front. The different copies are on different types of paper, vary slightly in size and color shade, but the image is the same in all of them. .1) is fairly fuzzy and washed out. Notes on the back merely identify it as the Mott House. This photo has a 1/4" white border. See Image #1. .2) Not currently with the rest of the set .3) is one of the sharper version of the photo. This photo has a 1/8" white border. See Image #2. .4) Identical size, color and paper type to .3). Notes on the back identify this as the Mott House and read: "50 a with building $25 000. 5-10 a " " 15 000. 5 a " house 12 500. 5 a " barn 7 500. 40 a cleared 12 000." This photo has a 1/8" white border. See Image #3. .5) Notes on the back are crossed out but read "1942 / Du Bois Smith Est. / St James L.I. / 50 acre farm - $25 000/ or / 10 acres (with)? buildings / $15 000". See Image #4. .6) Color very similar to .1. Notes on the back read: "Mott house - formerly / built by Trinity Mills for Sm. / Built about 1730 / opposite DuBois Smith House (Mills Pond)". This photo has a 1/4" white border. It is stamped on the back with the Historical Society's name and address.
